ABOUT THE WINE
A deep winter freeze and spring rains resulted in very low-yielding vines with inconsistent berry size. Pinot Noir fared better than other varietals with most vineyards setting only 1.5-2 tons of fruit/acre. As the fruit reached maturity in mid-September, Oregon was again subjected to stormy weather of hail and rain. Fortunately, the end of September brought warm, dry weather with light winds to dry up the vines and finish ripening at a leisurely pace. All of these events resulted in beautiful freshness and Oregon's trademark intense fruit flavors. Grapes for this blend were harvested from Aurora, Madrona, Gemini, Lazy River and Winter's Hill Vineyards.

Winemaker's Notes
All of the fruit was hand-sorted and destemmed. The grapes were then fermented in small lots with 5 days of cold soak to increase aroma and color ? during this time, the peak temperatures reached 90°F. The fermenters were aerated or manually punched down twice a day (for 12 ? 20 days) before lightly pressing after a post-maceration.

Tasting Notes
Aromas of Sandalwood, crushed rose petals, licorice, dried cherries and vanilla lead to a sweet mouth of ripe raspberry and strawberry. Bright acidity finishes long with firm tannins and spice.
